Abiroy and KPO successfully completed the first round of Safety Enhancement Training Program workshops for supervisors.
Supervisors face numerous challenges in a workplace. They play a vital role in meeting work specific targets, achieving production performance indicators and ensuring cost effective operation.
However, a supervisor’s position within organization is much more complex that it may actually seem. While working between management and the workforce, supervisors often form an interface link promoting communication and interaction between organization’s employees. Furthermore, one should not underestimate supervisor’s role in promoting workplace safety culture and forging a positive and responsible attitude to personal and collective safety among peers and subordinates.
This short course, developed in cooperation with KPO Corporate HSE Department, familiarizes supervisors with theoretical aspects behind safety systems used in KPO using practical examples and exercise.
Course syllabus also provides an insight into principles of effective leadership and behavioural influence as well as certain techniques that may help supervisors in work and communication with the workforce.
This includes conducting toolbox talks and briefings on specific subjects. As seen on the photos here, interactive format of the workshops allows supervisors to practice working with the audience and conducting such toolbox talks on particular health hazards (health topics were agreed with KPO Health Department).
