On 5-6 June an international Yamal Oil and Gas 2014 conference took place in Salekhard, Russian Federation. The theme of the conference was Integrated Development of Yamal Fields and Adjacent Offshore Areas: Attracting Investment and Innovative Technologies.
The event provided a unique opportunity for international cooperation, engaging investments into large-scale projects in Yamal area, sharing experience in field development in harsh climates, developing an environmental strategy and reviewing the legal aspects of subsoil use.
The forum welcomed executives and specialists from Russian and international oil and gas firms, representatives of independent oil and gas development and processing operators, engineering companies, market operators and representatives of the subsoil use and environmental authorities.
One of the highlights of the forum was an interview by Gleb Luxemburg, Director General of Yamal SPG; it had drawn the attention of all delegates and provoked a discussion.
According to Gleb Luxemburg, project executives face the problem of development and training of human resources, in addition to transportation infrastructure issues. In spite of new developments in oil and gas education, there is a standing shortage of specialists in gas liquefaction process.
The conference agenda also included discussions between leading companies and experts on the variety of subjects.
Abiroy exhibited their expertise in the delivery of qualification programs for technical personnel and health and safety professionals including accredited qualification programs endorsed by OPITO, NEBOSH and IOSH.
